Ellen DeGeneres and the speech every graduate deserves

Ellen DeGeneres addresses Tulane University’s graduating ‘Katrina Class’ this year with a lovely and honest, but also very funny speech – this is definitely something every graduate should have hear. I hope they will all keep the message in their hearts, stay true to themselves and become very happy!

Hab grad diese wunderbare Email bekommen und möchte mich auf diesem Weg an alle entsprechenden GAUFK wenden:

Mädels, das ist unser Tag heute. Heute ist ITGAUKF!!!! Heute ist der Internationale Tag der gut aussehenden und verdammt klugen Frau. Also sende diese Nachricht an jemanden, auf den diese Beschreibung perfekt passt. Bitte schicke es nicht an mich zurück, weil ich ja schon von einer verdammt gut aussehenden klugen Frau diese Nachricht erhalten habe und somit eine verdammt gut aussehende kluge Frau bin. Und denke immer an die Devise:

Women, know your limits!

I don’t think – unfortunately – this is so far away from the truth. A girlfriend of mine who was in investment banking in London and who is a very attractive and blond young lady couldn’t stop watching the video because it reminded her so much of her life there.

I also found an article around #worldwomensday which (I think it was in the FT Germany) that confirmed that women sometimes get UP TO 80% LESS in bonus payments because men spilt the cake among them.

Time to stand up – we already know that being a kickass women and having regular manicures and shaving your legs is ok, but it is time to actually do something about this tremendous injustice!

So here is my call to stand up:
